The last couple of weeks have seen a number of predictable stories in the press that we as football supporters have come to expect as the football season comes to an end. The story dominating the headlines is the future of Ronaldo, this comes despite an FA Cup weekend just gone, a Champions League Final around the corner and a small matter of extreme violence home (Manchester) and abroad (Milan) over the last week.

Chelsea: Still Talking?
After lifting the Premier League title for the 10th time since 1993, Sir Alex Ferguson and the new era he has built around himself couldn’t attract too much praise and admiration. In the run up to the last day of the season or ‘Super Sunday’ (if you choose to line the pockets of Rupert Murdoch) there were a lot of noises coming out of the Chelsea camp. Sir Alex Ferguson: The damage done.
So, Sunday saw Manchester United become Champions of England for a 17th time after winning back to back titles after a run of three seasons without winning the Premier League. This occasion also marked Sir Alex Ferguson and Ryan Giggs’ 10th title since 1993. You couldn’t imagine, with a record like this our ageless manager would have ever been on the end of a campaign which would have encouraged his initial decision to retire from the game.
